Bicycle Friendly Driver Training is Coming to Glenwood Springs!

Join us for a FREE Bicycle Friendly Driver certification class at Glenwood Springs Library, offered by Bicycle Colorado. The Training will take place on Monday, May 6, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

Bicycle-Friendly Driver is an interactive program designed to teach drivers best practices for sharing the road with people riding bicycles. Participants are encouraged to think of all road users as people, not just bikes or cars. We are all people sharing the road and must put each other's safety first. Both classes cover the following topics:

  • Common crashes between motorists and bicyclists and how to avoid them
  • Legal and illegal behavior for both motorists and bicyclists
  • How to navigate on street bicycle infrastructure
  • Why sharing the road is the safest option for both motorists and bicyclists

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Bicycle-Friendly Driver certificate, a sticker to display on their vehicles, and the option to pledge to be a Bicycle-Friendly Driver.
