2018 Midterm Election for Garfield County


The next midterm election is being held on November 6, 2018.  
 


Ballot Issue 2A for those within Glenwood Springs City Limits


SHALL THE CITY OF GLENWOOD SPRINGS TAXES BE INCREASED $1.4 MILLION (2019 ESTIMATE) ANNUALLY AND BY SUCH ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS RAISED ANNUALLY THEREAFTER FOR A LIMITED TWENTY-YEAR PERIOD ENDING IN COLLECTION YEAR 2038 BY AN AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAX IMPOSED AT A RATE OF SIX (6.000) MILLS (WHICH AUTHORIZATION REPRESENTS THE EXTENSION AND AGGREGATE RATE REDUCTION OF EXPIRING VOTER AUTHORIZATION INITIALLY APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT'S VOTERS AT ELECTIONS HELD IN 2000 AND 2013) IN ORDER TO MEET OPERATIONAL AND CAPITAL COSTS OF PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION, MEDICAL, RESCUE AND OTHER EMERGENCY SERVICES; AND SHALL THE REVENUE FROM SUCH MILL LEVY CONSTITUTE A VOTER-APPROVED REVENUE CHANGE WITHIN THE MEANING OF ARTICLE X, SECTION 20 OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION?
